Archaeological Curator at Colchester Castle Museum, Mr Peter Berridge holds the stone face of Longinus Sdapeze, a Roman cavalry officer. The original tomb was unearthed in Colchester in 1928 but his face was missing. The site was re-excavated in 1996 and the missing face was then discovered.
