The Royal Family Photography

Photographing members of the Royal family involves a considerable amount of patience.  You usually have to be in a fixed position then be prepared to wait around for that brief photographic moment to occur.

When the royal personage appears, it is up to you to get the picture there and then in that situation.  There is no asking for it all to be done again if you miss it.

That is unless you are very fortunate, like my dear photographer friend Tony Sapiano who was once delayed getting to photograph Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.  Tony arrived after the event had finished.  On learning that Tony hadn’t been there to take any pictures, Her Majesty went through the whole process again especially for him!

Lucky him.  I really do not think that would happen today.
