A transgender Essex pensioner accused of stalking has been allowed by a judge to take his cat into the court dock with him to help calm his nerves during his trial was today (Wednesday 12th April) given an 18 month supervision order after being found guilty of stalking two women and the breach of a restraining order.
Aidan Wiltshire, 73, from Chelmsford was given special permission yesterday afternoon by Judge David Turner QC to have his black cat called Taylor on his lap in the dock after the judge was told it would comfort him during his court room ordeal.
However it did nothing to calm him when he emerged from court and threatened me with his stick. It took two passing police officers a few minutes to calm him down after an earlier hearing.
